Our commitment
The Blackout Bunker wants everyone to be able to prepare for emergencies, including people with disabilities. We design and test the Site to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in a new tab).
What we do
- Semantic page structure with headings, landmarks and a skip-to-content link
- Full keyboard access with visible focus indicators
- Labels for every form field and grouped questions in the Bunker Kit Builder
- Text and controls that meet WCAG AA color contrast in light and dark modes
- Large touch targets and layouts that adapt to phones and to text zoom up to 200%
- Status updates announced to screen readers when your kit list changes
- Notice when a link opens a new tab, and respect for reduced-motion settings
- No information conveyed by color alone
Known limitations
Some linked websites, including government sites and Amazon, are operated by others and may not meet the same standards. We review the Site regularly and fix issues as we find them.
